Good morning, Potomackers… errr, Potomacians?
We’ve got our kids filling up trophy cases with baseball championships, the skinny on that secret Naval facility we can never get into, and a fine assembly of local events and music through the weekend to keep us all celebrating.
A lot of votes were cast in Monday’s “A person from Potomac is called what?” poll, so we’re taking the top 2 finalists head-to-head to help settle this once and for all on Friday. Stay tuned.
Pour that… sparkling wine… into your trophy-shaped mug and let’s dive in…
🗞️ THE LOCAL LOWDOWN

All Aboard the Championship Express

Bethesda Big Train Baseball
The Big Train completed their three-peat in spectacular fashion Monday night, demolishing the Alexandria Aces 15-3 to claim their third consecutive Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League championship.
The Big Train's offensive explosion included contributions from players representing universities from Alabama to Maryland, continuing the legacy of a program that has sent 25 alumni to the major leagues.
With the Big Train’s 12th overall championship in the books, and Montgomery County’s U-12 Little League claiming the State Championship just last week, our area continues proving that summer baseball excellence runs deeper than the Potomac River itself.
